The Cape Elizabeth-South Portland Democratic Regional Committee is open to all registered Democrats in Cape Elizabeth and South Portland. The Committee works to elect Democrats to local, county, state, and federal office, and to promote Democratic principles in the Town of Cape Elizabeth, the City of South Portland, the State of Maine, and the Nation through voter education. Executive Committee
The Executive Committee oversees the leadership, administration, and financial stewardship of the organization. Together, these officers provide structure, accountability, and continuity for the committee’s work.

The Chair serves as the chief executive officer, guiding the committee’s work, presiding over meetings, appointing subcommittee leadership, and convening the biennial caucus.

The Vice Chair supports this role and assumes all responsibilities when the Chair is unavailable, while also contributing to subcommittee work.

The Secretary manages all official records, including meeting minutes, committee membership and ensures timely reporting of officer or bylaw changes to the Maine Democratic Party.

The Treasurer maintains the committee’s financial operations—tracking contributions, managing expenditures, ensuring compliance with campaign finance regulations, and providing financial reports as needed.

The Assistant Treasurer, appointed by the Chair, shares administrative access to accounts and ideally resides in a different municipality to strengthen oversight.
Active Subcommittees

The Communications Subcommittee manages the Cape Elizabeth–South Portland Democratic Regional Committee’s public-facing communications by creating and maintaining its own media content, including the regional committee website, the e-newsletter, other email updates, and social media channels such as Facebook and Instagram.

The Voter Outreach Subcommittee is responsible for coordinating public‑facing activities of the Cape Elizabeth–South Portland Democratic Regional Committee such as speakers for meetings, local events, voter education resources, and candidate‑related support within the community. The committee ensures that residents have access to accurate election information, opportunities to engage with civic processes, and clear pathways to participate in outreach efforts.
